Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Syncetix collects, why, and what your rights are. It covers the syncetix.com website, the app at app.syncetix.com, and the Syncetix Amazon Tracking browser extension.
Two roles, one policy. For your own account data, Syncetix is the data controller and this policy applies. For your buyers' data that flows through sync (names, addresses, orders, tracking), you are the controller and Syncetix is your processor - that relationship is governed by the Data Processing Agreement, which is part of your contract automatically.
What we collect
- Account data - your name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never readable), workspace settings, and team invitations you send.
- Connection credentials - API keys and OAuth tokens for the stores, marketplaces, suppliers, and email inboxes you connect. Stored encrypted; used only to run your syncs.
- Commerce data - products, inventory, prices, orders, and tracking numbers from your connected channels, including your buyers' names and delivery addresses. Processed only to provide the service, under the DPA.
- Gmail scanning (optional) - if you connect a Gmail inbox, Syncetix reads messages only to find shipment-tracking numbers for your orders. It does not read, store, or use your email for anything else, and you can disconnect at any time.
- Technical logs - errors and security events (IP address, browser type) kept to run and protect the service. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
The browser extension
The Syncetix Amazon Tracking extension reads your own Amazon order and shipment pages - using your existing, logged-in Amazon session - to collect, per order: the Amazon order id, the shipping recipient name and address, the carrier, and the tracking number. That data is sent only to your own Syncetix account so your sales-channel orders can be marked shipped.
- The extension never asks for, sees, or stores your Amazon password.
- To connect, you sign in on the Syncetix site itself; the extension never sees your Syncetix password. It stores only a short-lived access token, locally in your browser.
- The token expires on its own within 30 days, and clicking Disconnect in the extension revokes it immediately, which stops the extension from sending anything.
- It does not read pages other than your Amazon order and shipment pages, and does not collect browsing history. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
How we use data
Only to provide, secure, and support the service: running your syncs, matching orders to tracking, computing your reports, sending transactional email (invites, password resets), and fixing failures. We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not train AI models on your data.
Where data lives and who touches it
Syncetix is hosted in the European Union. The sub-processors that help us run the service - hosting, transactional email, error monitoring - are listed with their roles and locations in the DPA, and we give notice before adding new ones.
Retention and deletion
Close your account and your data is retained for 30 days - so an accidental closure can be undone - and then permanently purged. You can request earlier deletion. Minimal records may be kept longer where the law requires it (for example, security logs or tax-relevant records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask for access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Write to support@syncetix.com from your account email and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA, you can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Cookies
The app uses only essential cookies: your session and a security token that prevents request forgery. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, anywhere.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect, and the dates at the top of this page will be updated.
